So many movies are filmed, produced and released every day. A lot of those movies become big hits, but some don’t do so well. This is a list of the top five movies everybody should see at least once in their lifetime.
This is an American drama film which tells the story of a man who finds out all of his mother’s earnings have been given to his autistic, savant brother, whom he did not even know about. The film shows the different daily struggles that a savant must go through and the way the brother’s relationship evolves is emotional and heart-warming. The film stars Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman, both incredibly talented actors who portray their characters perfectly.
Midnight in Paris
A screenwriter travels to Paris with his fiancée’s family and finds himself travelling back in time to the 1920s. It really changes the way he thinks about his marriage and his life altogether. The film is beautifully directed and really makes you fall in love with the characters. It is a film for all ages and will definitely bring back a few memories from your own life. Actors Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams play the main characters.
Some Like it Hot
A hilarious black and white comedy about two musicians who run away to stay in a hotel outside of the state. Things become slightly more complicated when they have to disguise themselves as women. It’s a laugh out loud comedy and a real feel-good film which everyone is bound to love. Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are the stars.
A French comedy-drama about a man, Philippe, who becomes a quadriplegic after an accident and hires a man, Driss, to be his caretaker and take care of him every day. The film is told as a flashback and Driss helps Philippe in many different areas of his life. The characters are portrayed beautifully and the whole movie just leaves you with the desire to go out a help someone, which is never a bad feeling. The main characters are played by Omar Sy and François Cluzet.
The Blind Side
The Blind Side is a drama film about a poor African-American teen who is adopted by a wealthy family. They give him the opportunity to become a football player, which is challenging for him at first, but he ends up becoming a star. The film is based on a true story, which makes it all the more emotional. Have tissues at the ready when watching this tear-jerking, Oscar winner starring Sandra Bullock and Quinton Aaron.
