Richard Gasquet is a French tennis player, born in Beziers, France on June 1986. Richard started playing at the age of four and had a lot of success as a young child.
At the age of 9, he was on the cover of French Tennis Magazine and was considered an extremely promising prospect even at such an early age. In his junior years, he won 44 matches out of 51 and was ranked No. 1 in France.
Richard Gasquet made his first debut in April of 2002 at the Tennis Masters Series. He was the youngest player to have ever been qualified and beat Argentina’s Franco Squillari.
As the years went on, his tennis career continued to be successful, after beating Roger Federer, ranked No. 1 in 2005.
Now, Richard is ranked No. 9 in ATP Tennis and continues to strive.
Gasquet is noted for his powerful and precise single-handed backhand and for his speed around the court.
He is currently being coached by Sebastien Grosjean and Riccardo Piatti.
